Mongolia at Locarno

As part of its Open Doors program, Locarno Film Festival (LFF) is generously highlighting Mongolian cinema from 2019-2021 in addition to seven other countries in Southeast Asia. The Mongolian delegation to the 77th year of LFF included Guru Media’s Byamba Sakhya who screened his debut fiction feature film Remote Control (2013) as part of the Open Doors Screenings and Ariunaa Tserenpil who represented Mongolia in a conversation with other Asian filmmakers at the Round Table of Open Doors.

In total, 9 Mongolians participated in all three parts of Open Doors: Lab, Hub, and Screenings. Find more information here at the official page of LFF. We are grateful for Locarno Film Festival and in particular, Sophie Bourdon, the head of Open Doors, for supporting the growth of Mongolian cinema.
