Mongolian director Byamba Sakhya’s “Passion” won the grand prize in the Asian Vision Competition at 7th Taiwan International Documentary Festival. A 12-member jury determined the festival’s winners in four categories and films from Mongolia, Russia, Switzerland and Taiwan won top prizes of TIDF.

A passionate, idealistic and completely broke Mongolian filmmaker roams around the steppes showing perplexed nomads his melodramatic films all the while philosophizing with his great old friend about socialism, broken dreams and the cost of petrol.
